If you’re looking for a fast-paced adventure with heart, meaning, and a huge creative spark, you MUST pick up Absolute Essence. This is Christopher Gulh’s second novel and I loved every minute of it! Simply could not put it down. He’s created a fantasy world populated by humans who live beside amazing creatures, elemental technology, and mighty, terrifying beasts. Two young people are separated, a rebellion rises in response to the atrocities of a king, and their world is never the same. This novel truly speaks to the eco-warrior in me and I can’t wait to see where the author is going to take his crew for their next adventure!

I fell in love with Neema and Tem from the first few action packed pages. Who couldn’t want to race along with a couple of scamps on a romp through a market, thief and fun style? But their lives quickly change, the sky crashing, burning death at every turn, and a terrifying rush for safety. I won’t give away too much, let’s just say they end up with their hands very, very full.

Neema and Tem aren’t the only dynamic, dimensional characters in the book, either. The author spent special time with each personality, developing individuals who we as readers can admire and hate and recognize in our own lives. We want to see more of them, believe their lies, cheer for their victories, and watch them live on loving forever.

His dialogue is crisp, natural, and comfortable. The settings are gorgeously rendered and cross so much terrain it can be dizzying. Man, can this guy write a fight scene! Believe me, you’ll never regret it.

Check out Absolute Essence. Be surprised and fall in love. Take an adventure and save the world. Remember how beautiful, and powerful, Nature truly is.

Catch ya on the flip side!
